Plumbase has demonstrated its commitment to forging closer links between its customers and network of 170 branches, with the appointment of a new National Sales Development team.
The five-strong team, which boasts over 100 years’ collective experience working for some of the industry’s best-known distributors, will be tasked with supporting each branch by welcoming new account holders and liaising with lapsed or inactive customers to collect real data.
This support will be further enhanced by the promotion of initiatives and events, as well as reporting back to branches on insight and views from the sole traders and independent installers often regarded as the industry’s lifeblood.
Led by Sean Cunningham, who has over 30 years’ experience working for the Pavis Family, Jackson Building Centres and PTS, the team also comprises Julie Laird, Nicky Elliott, Matt Daibell, and Nick Barton – each of whom brings a wealth of familiarity with the all-important relationship between the industry’s merchants and their customers.
Sean commented: “With such a large and comprehensive network of trade counters, we want to play our part in lightening the load at branch level by proactively speaking to as many customers as we possibly can. Much has been said of the digitalisation of our industry, but the fact remains that most installers still see their phone as their tool of choice, so this is a consideration we’re making as we go about sourcing real data from our customers – both new and existing.
“We recognise that there is a growing need for us to be proactive in welcoming new customers and also liaising with those who may have a lapsed account with us. In a short space of time, we’ve already made some really positive connections with a huge number of new, established, and previously inactive account holders, while also attracting installers to Plumbase’s much-loved Innovation Nights.
“We’re excited about the prospect of working closely with our branch staff and really showcasing the excellent customer support Plumbase has to offer.”
