In a drive to encourage its customers and employees to be more environmentally friendly, Plumbase has teamed up with Big Clean Switch.
Big Clean Switch is a social business which helps people and businesses move to renewable electricity providers. The partnership will allow those working with Plumbase to switch to one of the UK’s most clean energy suppliers.
As part of improving the company’s environmental credentials, Plumbase will now be powering all of its premises on renewable energy such as wind and solar, and wants its regular customers and staff to consider swapping too.
By switching to clean energy, they will be doing their bit for the environment and for the local economy, all while saving themselves money in the process. In addition, for every switch made, the company will donate £5 to Band of Builders, a national charity run by tradespeople, for tradespeople.
By entering a few details at the Big Clean Switch website, a bill payer’s current tariff will be compared with a list of clean energy alternatives. From there, it takes a few minutes to complete an application and the new supplier will then contact the old one and, in up to four weeks’ time, the switch to a clean energy supplier will have been made.
Mark Bradley, Managing Director at Plumbase, commented: “We are passionate about becoming an environmental leader in the merchant industry and are proud of our achievements to date in improving our green credentials. However, there is always more to be done, and the Big Clean Switch has provided us with a great opportunity to help our customers and colleagues to improve their environmental impact too.
“Switching our homes and business premises to clean energy can make a huge difference to the world around us by helping to reduce air pollution and boosting the UK renewable energy industry. Those who switch also have the potential to save on average £230 per year on their energy bills and to support a brilliant charity. With multiple benefits on offer, now is the time for people to consider making this important change.”
