The training team at Polypipe Building Products has launched an underfloor heating training and site support service which has already “proved to be a huge hit” with merchants and installers.
Whilst the merchant sector has successfully embraced a number of the changes to pre-pandemic business norms, as the coronavirus-enforced restrictions recede, there has been a huge appetite to resume in-branch customer events and training sessions for both staff and tradespeople. In response to this reinvigorated demand, Polypipe’s new support team is intended to offer merchants’ customers the chance to get “on-the-job guidance and training that is clear, concise, and from experts in the field”.
They also offer product overview training for merchant businesses own teams up and down the country.
So far in 2022, Polypipe’s site support has helped with everything from the advanced features of smart controls and wiring centres to bleeding the primaries on a manifold system. The team has visited merchants nationwide including MKM (pictured) and have also supported distributor E. Tupling’s recent Merchant open day at its base in Warrington.
Team members from James Hargreaves, meanwhile, have also visited Polypipe’s training centre in Doncaster for product overview training.
“Whilst the merchant sector has successfully embraced a number of the changes to pre-pandemic business norms, as the coronavirus-enforced restrictions recede, there has been a huge appetite to resume in-branch customer events and training sessions for both staff and tradespeople.”
However, training is only one part of what is available from the support team. They can help identify issues in systems, and back this up with thermal imaging, whilst they will also help to interpret full design documentation to improve and speed up installation.
Dean Asher, Head of Technical and Customer Services at Polypipe Building Products, said: “The new Site Support Service has been a phenomenal success with 10/10 ratings from customers across the board.
“Having an expert available has been great for installers and very popular with our merchant partners. It has also been good for us to get out to see our customers and help them ensure perfect installation of our underfloor heating products.
He added: “It has proved so successful that we are hoping to expand the team even further this year.”
Dean advises that merchants can book a visit to their branch by contacting their area heating manager, whilst more information about any of Polypipe’s underfloor heating products and services can be found via its dedicated new UFH website — www.polypipeufh.com.
