Bryan Clover, CEO of the Rainy Day Trust, is asking businesses how they are coping with COVID-19 with the feeback being used to enable the industry charity to tailor its response and offer much-needed support.
The media world is full of stories of doom and gloom, but how are the businesses of the home improvement sector really coping? Tell us how you are managing to support your staff, what your needs are and how we can help you. What’s your key strategy to keep going?
Our programmes are designed to support businesses and their staff through times of trouble, and we can be flexible in how we help. What measures have you put in place for furloughed staff? Are you topping up the government’s 80% of salary payments? What has worked for you, and what would you do differently next time?
If we know what is working, we can help to spread the word so that the whole sector benefits. You can learn from others’ successes and replicate them.
We can also bed-in our free-to-all services such as debt advice, legal advice and free telephone counselling. These services can be accessed by anyone and everyone working for and with you. Humans are sociable animals and long periods of isolation can bring anxiety and stress. Our telephone counselling service is perfect to break the cycle of depression before it takes hold.
For those that are on lower salaries, we have a Covid-19 fast-grant alongside our routine support. Looking after people who are struggling through tough times is what we are here to do. It is why we exist.
So, talk to us, tell us how you are coping, what you need from us and how we can keep your business strong ready for the upturn that will come.
