Setcrete floor levelling compounds are said to be proving a “major success” for Tippers Builders Merchants, reportedly becoming the company’s best selling floor levelling brand since they were introduced less than two years ago.
Setcrete is now stocked in all eleven Tippers branches located throughout the Midlands, having quickly demonstrated its appeal to the merchant’s customer base. Most popular amongst the supplier’s products stocked by the merchant are general purpose levelling compounds: Universal and Latex, and Setcrete Deep Base, which is used for quickly levelling up floors to a depth of 50mm. Tippers also stocks Setcrete Exterior for outdoor applications and Setcrete High Performance, which can be used over plywood, as well as sand/cement screeds and non-absorbent subfloors.
Explaining Setcrete’s rise to prominence, Tippers Director Peter Sampson said: “We have always stocked levelling compounds as part of a multi-product offering, but decided to try a ‘branded’ product as well. We do a lot of trade with kitchen and bathroom fitters, plus landscapers and they prefer the Setcrete range. Since we introduced it in August 2020, we have had a huge increase in sales and we now sell more Setcrete than other levelling compounds.
“This increase has been fuelled by the great support we’ve had from the Setcrete team, including Setcrete-run product demonstration days at our branches and the supply of eye-catching point-of-sale displays and easy-to-use product guides.”
Nine Tippers branches carry the full selection of Setcrete levelling compounds listed by the merchant, with selected products available in the other two branches.
Setcrete, meanwhile, is a division of F. Ball and Co. Ltd., one of the UK’s leading manufacturer of flooring adhesives and floor preparation products for the contract flooring industry. The Setcrete range has been designed to provide professional builders with high performance, fast-track flooring products that are also easy-to-use and deliver a high quality floor finish. The flooring compounds are said to draw on advances in technology from the contract flooring industry to create formulations that meet the specific needs of general builders and the environments in which they work.
