Leeds United FC legends, Eddie Gray and Noel Whelan, have signed up to be the ambassadors of Gibbs & Dandy’s new Leeds branch, which will open on Monday 3rd August.
As part of their ambassadorial role, the former players will compete in a Question of Sport style quiz, which is being hosted by the new branch for its VIP trade customers. They will also be working at the branch on Friday 7th August, so customers can be served by them.
The new Leeds branch will supply a wide variety of materials to suit all building needs, including general building materials, such as bricks, block, insulation and plasterboard. There will also be a drive-thru timber shed stocking timber, sheet materials and PSE mouldings, whilst also offering timber cutting services.
The branch will be Gibbs & Dandy’s third in the area, complementing the other two in nearby Pudsey and Huddersfield.
Gibbs & Dandy’s Managing Director, Neil Lawrence, said: “There’s been a lot of transfer speculation this summer, but I think we’ve pulled off a fantastic coup by signing up Noel and Eddie. The city of Leeds has a great sporting heritage and these two are true Leeds United greats, so I’m delighted they will help launch the new branch.
“The new branch will be a great addition to Leeds and will provide local trade professionals with competitively priced products and a fast and efficient service.”
Gray played for Leeds United for almost 20 years, racking up 454 league appearances. He also managed the team on two occasions. Meanwhile, Whelan played for the club in 48 league games, and was also part of the team that won the 1993 Youth Cup by beating a Manchester United side that featured David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Gary Neville.
