H&B announces executive management changes

The H&B merchant buying group has revealed a number of changes to its executive structure.

Nick Lander has been appointed Chairman of the group, replacing Peter Buttle who had filled the position since the group’s formation 21 years ago. Nick will chair the H&B board as well as help to provide strategic direction to the group.

Steve Parkins is appointed Managing Director of H&B and will provide the executive leadership required for the group as it continues to grow. Having previously held senior positions within Grafton Merchanting, Mark Gilham has been appointed Finance Director and will join H&B in December. Lastly, Peter Ces Agraso is appointed Category Controller. Peter brings with him a wealth of experience gained over a career spanning 20 years, and during this time he has held senior category management roles in companies such as Staples, B&Q, Jewson, Grafton and Travis Perkins.

Commenting on the changes, Nick Lander said: “H&B believes in providing industry leadership, showing agility and being commercially focussed, and we believe these announcements reinforce this position.”

Steve Parkins added: “Since joining the H&B group I have been amazed by the amount of potential, mixed with a superb culture and spirit. I am really looking forward to leading the group through the next chapter in what will be a long history.”

H&B merchant group was founded 21 years ago and has now grown to more than 74 members, with a combined turnover approaching £1 billion. The image shows (l-r) Steve Parkins, Peter Buttle and Nick Lander.
