Marking the half-way point of the recent Fortis Building & Timber Conference, the buying group’s Dinner and Awards Ceremony on the 17th April recognised excellence and achievement amongst suppliers – and also revealed its most engaged merchant member of the last 12 months.
Featuring a total of 3,502 meetings scheduled between merchant members and suppliers across 34 ‘speed-dating’ rounds over two days, delegates to the recent Fortis Building & Timber Conference – held from 17-18 April at the Celtic Manor Hotel in South Wales – participated in what can only be described as one of the sector’s most focused and intensive networking events.
With the purchasing deals already in place, the format affords merchants and suppliers the opportunity to take their discussions “to the next level” in the most efficient way possible, with the carefully structured match-ups designed to provide maximum mutual benefit for merchants and suppliers alike. Indeed, when taking the group’s parallel Lightside Conference into consideration, Fortis facilitates almost 6,000 highly focused meetings in total for its full pool of 40 merchant members.
Making a break from the formal proceedings, a key element of the event lies in recognising the service and support provided by some of the buying group’s leading suppliers with Awards presented across nine product category groups, in addition to announcing the overall Fortis Building & Timber Supplier of the Year. Furthermore, the organisation presents an accolade to the Supplier Account Manager of the Year alongside announcing the winner of the Most Engaged Fortis Building & Timber Member, as voted by the suppliers.
