Uniquely located on the high street at Updown Hill, beside Sutton’s sandwich shop, Chandlers Building Supplies has launched a new concept timber and landscaping showroom in the heart of Windlesham town centre.
Reportedly the first showroom of its type in the area and employing two product advisers, the outlet opened its doors at the beginning of October with the 40 sq. m retail space showcasing “vast ranges of cladding, decking, screening battens, porcelain paving, wooden flooring, doors and sleepers as well as decorative aggregates and more.”
Stuart MacDonald, Branch Manager of the firm’s nearby builders’ merchant depot in Woking, said: “Since opening the showroom in the town we’ve attracted a lot of attention from tradespeople and their customers. We’ve also seen an influx of the general public who are keen to see products close up, get knowledgeable advice on their projects, and prefer a retail showroom environment than a big builders’ merchants setting — so in many respects we are filling a gap in the market.”
Open Monday–Friday from 8am to 12.30pm, the showroom is also helping to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust via donations to advertise on its popular ‘Tradesperson Noticeboard’. Along with fellow IBMG merchants Parkers and Fairalls, Chandlers has been raising funds for the charity for many years and have collectively raised over £300,000 to date.
