The Builders Merchants Federation has launched Building Materials Jobs, a free online recruitment support service on BMCareers.com, the website at the centre of its award-winning programme to tackle major skills shortages in the sector.
Over half of the BMF’s membership, by turnover, has already opted into the BMCareers programme and received access to tools designed to improve their own talent and recruitment programmes. To date, 245 members have taken the extra step and uploaded their Employer Profile to the BMCareers website, giving them visibility to the tens of thousands of potential recruits who have visited the site since its launch earlier this year.
Until now, however, visitors have had to click through to a particular member’s website to see if they are currently recruiting. The addition of a dedicated “Search for Jobs” tab, located at the top of every page on the website, provides instant access to all current job vacancies, which can be searched by location, employer, job role, salary or keyword.
BMF members who have signed up to use the website and uploaded an Employer Profile can add jobs, edit jobs, and link advertised jobs to their own – or a third party – website where candidates can apply.
While BMF members can add jobs directly via the Members Area log-in, if they are listing multiple roles, they can also ask the BMF team to assist with bulk uploads.
John Newcomb, BMF CEO said: “Having the right people in place is vital to the future success of our sector. We want our entire membership to gain value from BMCareers. The campaign website is a fantastic tool that is already attracting new audiences, but enabling BMF members to upload jobs directly will be a game-changer. All those who haven’t yet done so are encouraged to register with BMCareers now.
“Building Materials Jobs makes it far simpler for those lacking digital resources or back-office HR teams to promote opportunities for new starters and participate alongside larger companies that have recruited through the platform.”
John added: “We’ll be using our social media campaign to reach out to diverse audiences and drive them to the new job search pages. Members should act now to participate and gain the benefit.”
