With 2026 trading firmly underway for the home improvement sector, the industry charity Rainy Day Trust is reaching out to businesses with a message – we are here to help your people and add value to your business.
Rainy Day Trust CEO Anna Skeats said the charity’s core mission was to support members across the whole sector and embed a sense of wellbeing, whether financially or emotionally. “We want to work with businesses and ensure that wellbeing is at their core, that there’s a sense of equilibrium across the whole workforce which in turn creates a positive environment.
“We can add real value,” she said, “and in the three months since I have been in the role, I’ve had extremely productive meetings with business of all sizes who recognise that. Yes, my job is to encourage businesses to support us financially but there is so much we can offer.”
Anna will be continuing to meet with businesses to explore ways of working together and will be attending Spring Fair next month. “This is still very much the early days of my tenure as CEO so I want to use all avenues to get to meet businesses – I’ll be at the NEC for the Spring Fair and will be looking to head to other shows and events – please get in touch if you’d like me to visit your event or let’s grab a coffee together if you’re visiting the show!”
The Rainy Day Trust has a busy calendar of all-important fundraising coming up with the Bath Half Marathon and London Marathon, but firstly, Mad March Million! This is an industry-wide wellbeing campaign that’s all about movement, momentum, and making wellbeing part of everyday life.
Businesses put forward a team of 10 people who commit to just 10 extra minutes of activity each day throughout March.
“Together, we’re aiming for a collective million steps across our industry,” said Anna. “It’s a brilliant way to boost engagement, lift spirits as Spring arrives, and show your team you value their wellbeing.
“It’s not about being the fittest or the fastest, it’s about normalising and celebrating the importance of physical activity, building team camaraderie, and having a bit of fun whilst supporting your industry charity. Let’s make March the month we move together!”
