Growtivation has acquired the landscape and geotextile fabric division of TDP in a deal that will see the landscaping and building materials supplier take on products including landscape fabrics Plantex and TDP50, geotextile TDP115 and fibres for concrete, screed, plaster and render.
For Growtivation, which has grown to a multimillion-pound business over the past decade, the acquisition will allow it to further expand its offering to both existing and new customers. Meanwhile, the two firms are working closely together to ensure that TDP’s customers will not be affected by the transition of the products between the businesses.
Growtivation Director Vernon Elsey said: “This was too good an opportunity to miss. We are gaining some fantastic products which will integrate well into the Growtivation family. There are a lot of similarities between our two companies in terms of culture, values and a focus on quality and customer service.
“We believe this acquisition firmly cements us as the leading specialist in the landscaping and building fabrics sector.”
As well as its landscaping and building fabrics, Growtivation supplies builders’ merchants with its Siteworx range of building and DIY products which will be the new home to the TDP fibres. Growtivation’s products also include reinforced grass system Grassrings, erosion control and tree root protection system Groundcell and gravel retention system Gravelrings.
TDP established its landscape and geotextile division in 1991, when the company was founded. The sale of the division to Growtivation will allow it to focus on developing its newer recycled garden furniture division.
