Andy Williamson, Commercial Director at SIG UK, is to chair a newly-established BMF Product Forum covering Insulation & Dry Lining. The new Forum will meet for the first time on 28 October at the BMF’s head office in Coventry.
Andy is well known to many in the industry, having spent over 30 years as a supplier into the merchant sector. He joined SIG in June 2020 as part of a new management team with the focus of improving the relationships with its builders’ merchants customers and suppliers alike. His former roles include Group Managing Director of IKO plc and Director of Digby Stone. He is currently the Senior Warden of the Worshipful Company of Builders Merchants and due to take over as Master in October.
In taking on the role of Chairman of the BMF’s newly formed Insulation & Dry Lining Forum, Andy plans to bring merchants and suppliers together to discuss the current challenges being experienced by all in the supply chain and facilitate a better understanding of how everyone can work better together on these. In addition, the Forum will be looking at future trends and opportunities including changes in legislation.
Commenting on the latest Forum, BMF CEO, John Newcomb said: “We are delighted that Andy will chair the Insulation & Dry Lining Forum. He has always been a huge supporter of the merchant sector and also served on the board of the BMF for a number of years. I can’t wait for the first meeting, which will also be one of the first to be held physically at our head office since the lifting of Covid restrictions.”
Places can be booked on the inaugural BMF Insulation & Dry Lining Forum through the BMF website.
