With other industry bodies assessing their meetings and events schedules, the NMBS has issued an update in relation to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis regarding this year’s All Industry Conference. As things stand, there are “no plans” to cancel the event.

With this year’s merchant industry conference scheduled to take place in Sorrento, Italy from 18-21 June, the NMBS has issued the following statement:
“Following the recent lockdown in Italy, we are continuing to monitor the situation closely and are in regular contact with the Hotel and the relevant authorities both in the UK and Italy.
Due to Italy being in lockdown the Hotel is currently closed to guests, however it expects to reopen once the lockdown is removed on the 4th April. Therefore, we will be able to provide a full update in early April.
At this moment, we currently have no plans to cancel the NMBS All Industry Conference in Italy on Thursday 18th – Sunday 21st June due to the Coronavirus.
We will provide a further update following April 4th.”
As outlined above, the NMBS Exhibition and Gala Dinner at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on April 21 & 22 has now been cancelled.
Similarly, the BMF has been contacting those scheduled to attend its forthcoming forums, events and training schedule for March and April. In its most recent update, the BMF says it has cancelled “all regional meetings, events and forums for the next eight weeks.”
Other industry events have already been postponed, for example the National Homebuilding & Renovating Show has been rescheduled from 26 – 29 March to 9 – 12 July 2020.
PBM will endeavour to bring more information on industry events whenever possible.
