Global Stone announces ownership change

Global Stone, including Trovia, are now under new ownership as a result of the recent sale by Kent Blaxill Builders’ Merchant, the parent company to their key supplier, Shree Agencies of India.

Global Stone was established as a wholesaler of natural stone paving 16 years ago to supply the domestic paving market. From the outset, Global Stone has had a strong relationship with Shree, which has helped underpin the company’s growth.

It is a brand known for its products which have gained as much as a 10% market share by value in the domestic stone paving sector. The purchase by Shree Agencies reportedly brings increased investment which is hoped will take the Global Stone business to another level.

Global Stone has also developed a choice of quality porcelain tiles for the exterior paving market. Julian Wood, Managing Director, has been with the company from its inception and Clare Morgan, Commercial Director, and Sara Cullis, Marketing Director, will lead a team who are all moving with the sale.

Julian said: “I believe this will make our business and team even stronger for the future. We will continue to innovate and develop new products, benefitting from increased investment and focus on making the business sustainable for future.”
