h&b Group appoints Paul Pamment as Membership Development Director

In a strategic appointment which is said to reinforce its commitment to enhancing value for its members, h&b Group has appointed Paul Pamment as Membership Development Director.

In his new role, Paul is tasked with recruiting, developing, guiding and assisting merchants into the h&b Development Group. One of his key focuses will be to improve communication channels between the merchants and the group and vice versa.

Paul is committed to ensuring that the comprehensive benefits of h&b membership are fully communicated and accessible to all merchant members, bringing 30 years of industry experience spent working at both independent and national builders’ merchants, most recently at h&b member CT Baker. This experience gives Paul a unique insight into understanding of the buying group joining process from a merchant’s point of view, ensuring a seamless transition for new members.

He said: “Transparency and effective communication are the cornerstones of any successful partnership. I aim to ensure that our merchant members experience the full extent of the broad benefits that come with being part of the h&b Group as well as the great deals.”

h&b Group continues to be a pivotal force for independent merchants across the UK, boasting more than 110 members from Jersey to northern Scotland. The group’s members have a combined turnover exceeding £1 billion, generated from truly independent, often family-owned, merchant businesses. The group says it “remains committed to its core values of empowering its members to compete more effectively in a crowded and competitive market, thereby driving greater profitability.”

And with this latest appointment, the organisation “reiterates its commitment to strategic growth and operational excellence, as it continues to build on its reputation as the buying group with a difference for independent merchants in the UK’s building industry.”
