James Hardie has embarked on the ‘Hardie Plank challenge’ – a roadshow event in collaboration with a number of builders’ merchants to raise awareness of the Hardie VL Plank range.
The roadshow series is taking place in 25 merchant locations across the UK. It kicked off at Jewson’s newly-opened Bridgwater branch on Tuesday 28th May and runs until October when the challenge winner will be announced.
At each event James Hardie invites installers, customers and dealers to attend and learn about the Hardie Plank product range, which is said to offer quality, versatility and 20% faster installation times than alternative cladding products. Guests will receive comprehensive product training and then be invited to take part in the challenge where competitiors will race against the clock to install the product with precision and speed.
Every person who takes part will reveive a James Hardie goodie bag and the ‘fastest fixer’ on the day will win a prize and also be entered into the national time challenge, where the top three fastest installers in the UK will win £5,000, £3,000 or £2,000 worth of holiday vouchers.
Lee Bucknall, UK Sales Manager at James Hardie said: “We wanted to create a challenge that was a bit of fun and at the same time raise awareness and promote the benefits of the Hardie VL Plank range. This initiative is a great opportunity to grow our network of installers and also to work closely with a number of builders’ merchants.
“If you fancy yourself to be a top quality installer and think you have what it takes, we’d love to see you at one of our events.”
The Hardie VL Plank itself is billed as “the perfect timber and uPVC alternative for DIY renovations and housebuilders, with a convincing texture and natural look.” The clip-less system is said to be at least 20% faster to install than comparable interlock solutions, and delivers a low maintenance solution with a unique ColourPlus technology finish.
