Leyland SDM enhances delivery and bolsters timber range

Leyland SDM has introduced a new one-hour delivery service and strengthened its timber range to bolster its “already strong reputation for convenience” for tradespeople across London.

All 32 Leyland SDM stores now offer express delivery within an hour as part of a full range of options for tradespeople to receive their materials and products direct to their job at any London address. The decorating and DIY specialist has also entered into a partnership with Cheshire Mouldings and now has more than 120 different timber options on offer in store.

New ‘indoor timber yard’ facilities are being rolled out across the store network, with half due to be completed by the end of 2022 and the remainder installed by the middle of next year. All timber requirements are said to be catered for, including planed timber and timber sheet materials such as MDFs, OSB, plywood sheets, chipboards and hardboard.

Jonathan Jennings, CEO of Leyland SDM, said: “We have built up a strong reputation for convenience amongst our trade customer base and these two developments only serve to enhance that as we offer the outstanding availability, service and pricing tradespeople desire.

“Our rapid and reliable delivery service gives customers a wide range of options to receive their materials direct to their jobs from within an hour of ordering with our stores. Customers can choose their delivery day and time and the size of vehicle required to suit their order – we have anything from a bicycle to a lorry ready to go.”

He added: “With regards the timber, partnering with Cheshire Mouldings means we can not only increase our range but also offer high volumes of stock available at competitive prices. Normally, tradespeople would have to go to the outskirts of London to collect their timber but, with our stores located in prominent positions all across the capital, they will now have a very short distance to collect whatever they need and travel to their job.”
