The World’s Strongest Brothers and Scottish legends – Tom and Luke Stoltman – have officially opened MKM Building Supplies’ state-of-the-art new branch in Inverness.
Located on 1.2-acre site on Harbour Road and becoming the 86th branch in the firm’s UK-wide network, the outlet has created 17 new jobs in the area and is reportedly the first brand new merchant branch to open its doors to the trade and general public in the town for over 15 years.
To mark the occasion, Tom Stoltman – the recently crowned World’s Strongest Man – and his brother Luke, the five-time winner of Scotland’s Strongest Man, were MKM’s guests for a special launch event on Monday 12th July. Alongside officially opening the new depot, Tom and Luke also held a meet and greet with local fans and even used the branch’s state-of-the-art kitchen showroom to showcase the breakfast that led to them becoming champions – a mighty 20 eggs!
Luke said: “As a local resident, it’s great to see independent businesses investing in Inverness and providing a service like this for local trades and the general public. MKM is a first-class facility run by extremely knowledgeable and helpful people, so it’s really going to add value to the area. Tom and I were delighted that we were asked to celebrate the official opening and have the chance to meet staff and customers alike.”
The outlet is headed up by Branch Directors Mark MacDonald and Graeme Macleod, who have worked together for over a decade and have a combined experience in the building and construction industry of over 50 years. Mark said: “Graeme and I have been given a fantastic, once in a lifetime opportunity to open a facility that many builders and other tradespeople in this area wouldn’t have experienced before.

Said to provide a one-stop-shop for all building products, the branch also boasts a “stunning kitchen, bathroom and flooring showroom, offering a range of traditional and contemporary solutions to suit all styles and tastes”.
