National Timber Group (NTG) has brought two of its specialist timber merchant businesses together under one brand with all NYTimber branches becoming part of the Arnold Laver nationwide branch network.

The team from Arnold Laver Hebburn have relocated to join the team at the former NYTimber branch at Hendon, Sunderland forming one branch with a single team, Arnold Laver Sunderland (main image above). Site facilities have been improved and there is a wider range of stock.

The former Northallerton NYTimber head office site is now Arnold Laver Northallerton.

Tom Andrews, Trade Branch Director NTG England said: “We now have 15 Arnold Laver branches in the network staffed by people with significant timber knowledge and experience, providing an even stronger regional offer for our customers.

“The branches have access to NTG facilities such as transport and purchasing, specialist  products including cladding and door-sets, and an extensive production mill for bespoke timber and treatment, all backed by the group’s buying power delivering greater value.”

NTG brought the engineered wood products divisions of NYTimber and Arnold Laver together in 2019 to form National Timber Systems, the group’s specialist engineered wood products division.

Reportedly the largest independent timber distribution and processing group in the UK, National Timber Group was created through the acquisitions of market-leading brands including Thornbridge Timber, Rembrand Timber, NYTimber and Arnold Laver, and launched in 2018.

The business has a combined turnover of £320 million, 1300 employees and 52 trading sites from the north of Scotland to the south of England.
