STARK Group’s Jewson brand has launched its very first distribution hub at the newly refurbished Craigentinny Jewson branch in Edinburgh.
This development is the latest part of STARK Group’s “ongoing transformation journey to optimise distribution through clustering and modernise its branch network across the UK.” Other recent steps include the new brand identity for its specialist civils, utilities and infrastructure projects business, with ‘Frazer’ becoming the new name for ‘Jewson Civils Frazer’ which followed a full overhaul of the Jewson brand and the rollout of a new branch format earlier in the year.
The refurbished branch in Craigentinny has been transformed into a distribution hub, which will now serve as the centralised point for all deliveries across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. The shift to a clustered distribution model will improve delivery efficiency, offering extended operational hours and “enabling Jewson to handle increased order volumes while reducing the environmental impact of multiple trips across the city.”
In addition to serving as a distribution hub, the Craigentinny branch has been refurbished in line with Jewson’s ‘Branch of the Future’ concept, which brings innovative features inspired by the Group’s successful branch concepts in the Nordic countries and Germany. The concept aims to transform the customer experience for the UK’s tradespeople.
STARK Group states: “Optimising Jewson’s branch network nationwide and developing distribution facilities are part of a comprehensive investment programme aimed at strengthening the company’s market position and delivering even better service to the customers.”
