The Golf Classic reaches penultimate round

The 2018 Golf Classic Grand Final is now drawing closer as players from around the country meet for the penultimate round.

Now in its 26th year, The Golf Classic offers participants the chance to play golf, make friends and forge business contacts, as new entrants participate each year.

David Datsun of Maynard Heady and partner Andy Jackson from AJ Scaffolding played Mark Cakebread of Equinox Flooring and Stephen Sealey, Floor Seal, in the fourth round.

David commented: “I am very pleased to say that Andy and I managed to win a very tough match against two lovely guys! Both teams played well and the result was close. They scored one birdie par five and we achieved two birdies par three, and this won us the game. I’ve competed in the Golf Classic for many years now, and what I really enjoy most is meeting new people who also work in the construction industry.”

This year’s Grand Final will be held at Slaley Hall in Northumberland. The resort’s Hunting Course is a European Tour venue and is known as the ‘Augusta of the North’. Situated in the countryside, Slaley Hall is an Edwardian mansion, where finalists will be able to enjoy free golf, a gala dinner, prize-giving and an overnight stay. Winners of the tournament will take home a trophy as well as Pro Shop vouchers. There will also be prizes for the Runner-up, Nearest the Pin and the Longest Drive.

Spot prizes will also be awarded in each round and will include branded golf balls, caps and umbrellas, a weekend break, and the chance to take part in the final for lucky losers. Plus, by sending through pictures and stories from the games, prizes will be awarded for those included in the press and online.
