BMF Annual Members’ Conference takes shape

Registrations are open and speakers are being announced for this year’s BMF Annual Members’ Conference and Awards, to be held at the newly extended Belfry Hotel and Resort in Sutton Coldfield on 16 and 17 September.

Popularly known as BMF Members’ Day and hosted once again by TV and radio presenter Colin Murray, this year’s conference programme will be delivered under the forward-thinking theme “Digitise, Diversify, Decarbonise.”

Delegates can anticipate informative and entertaining conference sessions, interactive workshops, and an engaging exhibition of suppliers and service members. The two-day programme also features sporting and social networking events, including the BMF Golf Tournament and a black-tie Awards Dinner celebrating members’ achievements.

The UK’s relationship with Europe will be firmly in the spotlight at the event with leading expert Professor Anand Menon offering a fresh perspective on future relations. Anand, who co-authored Brexit and British Politics, is a Professor of European Politics and Foreign Affairs at King’s College London and serves as Director of the think tank, UK in a Changing Europe.

Additionally, he was appointed this year as a Director at Public First, a leading policy, research, and strategy consultancy. He has spent over thirty years researching and teaching British and European politics at leading universities and is also a regular commentator on TV, radio, and in the national press.

Known for his ability to make the complexities of international relations clear and engaging, at the BMF Members Conference, he will share his insights into the UK’s future relationship with its closest neighbour and most significant trading partner, explore the changing nature of the EU itself, and consider the broader global implications of European political shifts.

BMF CEO John Newcomb said: “The UK’s relationship with Europe is more relevant than ever, especially in this time of global uncertainty and conflict. Understanding how the EU is evolving and what that means for the UK is crucial—not just for our industry but for everyone interested in stability and prosperity.

“I’m delighted that Professor Menon will discuss these vital topics at our conference.”

Speaking about the event more broadly, John commented: “Our annual flagship gathering continues to grow, both in ambition and attendance. We aim each year to surpass previous achievements, and we’re pleased to welcome members to the Belfry, which offers excellent conference accommodation, state-of-the-art golfing facilities, and a luxurious spa for relaxation.”

The BMF Annual Members Conference and Awards takes place at the Belfry Hotel and Resort in Sutton Coldfield on 16 and 17 September.
