A new British-designed tool has been launched to make fitting plasterboard ceilings “easier, quicker and less physically demanding for both trade professionals and DIY users.”
Board Aid is now available to purchase and the supplier is actively looking to partner with builders’ merchants to stock the product.
Described as a compact plasterboard support tool designed to temporarily hold plasterboard in position against ceiling joists, providing support while the board is positioned and fixed, Board Aid was developed in response to the difficulties of handling and fixing plasterboard overhead and is said to “offer a simple and practical solution for professional tradespeople and DIY users alike.”
Compact enough to keep in a toolbox or van, the product has been designed with simplicity and practicality in mind. The company says it “provides support exactly where it is needed, helping the user to concentrate on positioning and securing the plasterboard.”
Unlike larger plasterboard lifting equipment, Board Aid is small, portable and easy to store which makes it “particularly useful for jobs where transporting or setting up larger equipment may not be practical.” And despite its compact and lightweight design, Board Aid is constructed from strong ABS plastic, which “creates a durable tool that can be used again and again.”
Designed for both trade professionals — including plasterers, dryliners, builders and carpenters — as well as DIY users tackling plasterboard ceiling projects at home, the Board Aid design is protected through registrations in four major markets (the UK, European Union, United States and China) as the business looks towards further growth and international opportunities.
Created to complement the way plasterboard ceilings are already installed rather than introduce a complicated new system, Board Aid is now looking to work with builders’ merchants, tool retailers, DIY retailers and distributors.
