Bence Group diversifies into windows & doors

The George Bence Group has opened its eighth branch by moving into the supply & fit of doors and windows.

Focusing on its continuing strategy of product diversification by area, Group MD Paul Bence said: “As a business that supplies everything from foundations to kitchens, external doors & windows was an area where we could not say we were experts. The new management team on this specialist area have acquired over 50 years of knowledge & experience in this sector and we very much look forward to them adding further value to our clientele.

“There is also a great sentimental feel to this product line as we had a Glass shop in Cheltenham in the late 1800s. We recently found some window marketing campaigns from the 1930s, so we may dust them off and go again!”

Paul added: “As we approach 170 years of service to Gloucestershire and its surrounding areas, we remain defiantly independent and extremely proud of our roots. With our industry still being swamped with private equity from afar, we are showing strength & resilience to show success in our industry on smaller budgets in what is a tough marketplace.”

Fergus Giblin, Director at Bence Windows & Doors, added: “After spending the last two decades running a local window company, when the opening arose to work with such a well-established business like Bence it was an opportunity I have been extremely excited about. In our first month we have been overwhelmed with the response, alongside the Bence brand we are very much looking forward to working with local trade and retail clients.”
