The Freight Transport Association’s Transport Manager conference series, will return again in September to 10 venues across the country.
The events will highlight key issues for those working in the logistics industry, with the aim of helping them remain compliant and up to speed on the latest developments in legislation and professional advice.
FTA Transport Manager 2017 broke all previous attendance records, exceeding 1300 delegates for the first time in the event’s history. Several new venues have been chosen for this year’s series to enable more delegates to attend.
This year’s conferences will give delegates the chance to hear from a range of senior industry experts and policy makers, and will include a ‘your questions answered’ session with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).
Other topics to be covered by the event’s speakers will include Earned Recognition, urban access, the recently relaunched Logistics Emissions Reduction Scheme (LERS), smart tachographs and managing your maintenance provider. The FTA Member Advice Centre interactive quiz will also return, and the association’s experts will be on hand throughout the day to advise on legislation and compliance issues.
James Firth, FTA’s Head of Road Freight Regulation Policy, said: “These events are an essential tool to help transport managers stay up-to-date with ever-changing legislation and best practice across the industry. The fact that numbers have grown year-on-year illustrates the regard in which they are held by operators. Compliance is key in the logistics industry and the Transport Manager conferences provide reassurance that operators are equipped with the most current information available, as well as the chance to ask questions of those formulating the rules by which transport managers must operate.”
To attend, the cost for FTA members is £295 plus VAT for the first delegate and £265 plus VAT for subsequent delegates; for non-FTA members it is £395 plus VAT for the first delegate and £365 plus VAT for subsequent delegates. This price will include access to all the exclusive conference sessions, a full package of refreshments throughout the day, and a goodie bag with useful information.
