Gibbs & Dandy completes host of charity fundraisers

Gibbs & Dandy has had a year packed with fundraisers from pounding the streets at the London marathon, to darting through the Herefordshire countryside and even leaping out of aeroplanes.

It all began with South Coast-based Gibbs & Dandy Branch Manager, Leigh Roberts, who completed last year’s warmest London Marathon on record. His efforts in raising just over £2,500 for the Barnardo’s charity contributed towards the parent company’s charity campaign total, which currently stands at over £303,000.

160 miles to the North West, Gibbs & Dandy Hereford employee, Steve Collins, took on a charity challenge of his own self-designed half marathon. Steve clocked up the miles as he went the extra yard for the charity which helped him in his battle against illness and raised over £1,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.

Taking it to the skies, Gibbs & Dandy Henley staff member, Karen Perriss, completed her first ever charity tandem sky dive. Karen made the jump in August, alongside her son Robbie, to raise money for The Multiple Sclerosis Trust – a charity close to their heart as her husband and fellow Gibbs & Dandy employee, Mick Perriss, has the illness.

By promoting their dual leap of faith on screen behind the counter at the Henley branch, the pair managed to pull in further customer donations to boost their final total to £2,561.50.

Neil Lawrence, Managing Director of Gibbs & Dandy, said: “It’s always inspiring to see staff raising money for great causes, especially when it’s so close to their heart. Everyone at Gibbs & Dandy is looking forward to another year of exciting charity events.”
