Flex-R was awarded the title of Roofing Supplier of the Year at the recent Fortis Building & Timber conference.
Held over two days at the Celtic Manor resort in South Wales, with 40 merchant members and numerous suppliers in attendance the Fortis Building & Timber conference is seen as one of the sector’s most focused and intensive networking events.
The buying group’s dinner and awards ceremony, held on the final evening of the conference on 17th April, recognised excellence and achievement amongst suppliers. Awards were presented across nine product category groups, and Flex-R was announced as the winner in their category on the night.
Barry Shorrock, Sales Director at Flex-R, commented: “It was an amazing awards evening at the Fortis Conference, and it was fantastic to be nominated for Roofing Supplier of the Year. When we were announced as the winner, it was unbelievable; we were delighted.”
The award was accepted by Barry alongside Trading Director Danny Cole, but they were quick to give credit to their team. Danny said: “We’d like to thank the entire team at Flex-R for the unbelievable work they carried out and the service they delivered during the year to our Fortis members. It was a collective team effort that included the sales, technical, and all internal departments.
“We’d also like to thank the Fortis committee for their nomination and the members for their continued support.”

Flex-R was founded in 2000 and has become one of the UK’s largest suppliers of single-ply membranes. The company supplies a range of flat roofing systems including RubberBond FleeceBack EPDM, manufactured by Carlisle-SynTec and LQD-PUR Polyurethane Liquid waterproofing systems for contractors and ClassicBond EPDM systems for stocking merchants.
With office and warehouse facilities in both High Wycombe and Huddersfield, a team of area sales managers are on hand to train and support roofing customers across the UK.
