The Builders Merchants Federation has announced that Paul McNamara, Technical Director at Williams Advanced Engineering will speak at BMF Members Day in September. In doing so, the BMF has underscored the motor racing motif behind the event’s overall theme, Together Towards Tomorrow.
Williams Advanced Engineering takes technology originally developed for Formula One and adapts it for commercial applications. Paul is responsible for overseeing the overall technical management and delivery of the company’s expanding range of projects in the automotive, motorsport, energy, defence and civil engineering sectors. He is key to ensuring that the company continues to build a reputation for delivering projects in an agile and innovative way.
Paul joins another speaker on the Members Day programme, Dr Mark Jenkins, Professor of Business Strategy at Cranfield School of Management, who uses research into Formula One Motorsport to explore how strategy, teamwork and innovation combine to deliver high performance.
The event’s headline sponsor, ACO, has developed a Race Team Management related competition to support its BMF Members’ Day sponsorship at branch level. ACO will be revealing full details later this month with additional information appearing in PBM’s June edition.

BMF Members’ Day takes place on 20th and 21st September 2016 at Jurys Inn Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire. In addition to the business conference, the two-day event encompasses a black-tie Awards Dinner, sponsored by Marsh Industries, and informal networking opportunities including the BMF’s popular Golf Tournament sponsored by Monument Tools, to be held at the nearby Nuneaton Golf Club.
