Dulux Decorator Centre is to officially join the Builders Merchants Federation as an affiliate member on 1 January 2025.
In a move said to further strengthen the trade body’s Painting, Decorating and Building Chemicals member category, Dulux Decorator Centre (part of AkzoNobel) is stated as being the UK’s largest paint and decorating merchant with a network of over 230 stores nationwide. As well as products from all the leading brands, it offers free delivery, colour matching and click and collect services, together with “expert advice from its store teams and industry-leading sector experts, supporting customers from specification through to application.”
The business is also taking proactive steps to achieve its own sustainability goals and to “help customers work greener too” by offering a free can recycling service, for example, and more sustainable products such as the latest water-based paints.
Guy Butterworth, Managing Director of Dulux Decorator Centre, said: “The BMF’s mission and values are very much aligned with our own. We look forward to working with them and fellow members to accelerate the adoption of more sustainable materials and operations, and to participating in the work of the BMF Decorators Forum.”
BMF CEO John Newcomb added: “We are delighted to welcome Dulux Decorator Centre to the BMF. We are proud to represent the full spectrum of building material supply from foundations to finishes. The breadth of BMF membership enables supply chain collaboration to address common issues, such as sustainability, skills and efficiency, and share best practice. I am sure that Dulux Decorator Centre will make a valuable contribution to this work in the coming year.”
