The Builders Merchants Federation has announced that Magnet, one of the UK’s leading kitchen specialists, has joined the trade body to further strengthen its presence in the category.
With more than 100 years’ heritage in designing, manufacturing and supplying high-quality kitchens, Magnet says it “combines kitchen expertise with national scale.” It manufactures most of its kitchens at its Darlington site, where more than 450 people work.
Earlier this year, the company transitioned to a standalone UK business under new ownership, a move that will “aid the expansion of its B2B partnerships and the ongoing rollout of an enhanced digital customer experience across showrooms.”
Chris McManus, B2B Director, said: “We are delighted to join the BMF at a time when collaboration across our industry is more important than ever. This partnership gives us the opportunity to work more closely with our trade partners, bring our expertise as a UK manufacturer and kitchen specialist into that wider conversation, and play an active role alongside other members to drive progress and continue raising standards across the industry.”
BMF CEO John Newcomb added: “We are delighted to welcome Magnet to the BMF. We are proud to represent the full spectrum of building material supply from foundations to fittings and finishes.
“The breadth of BMF membership enables supply chain collaboration to address common issues, such as sustainability, skills and efficiency, and share best practice. I am sure that Magnet will make a valuable contribution to this work in the coming year.”
